Leonbergers we admire most

This is a new feature I would like to introduce, the idea being that we tend to show our own dogs on the site as you would expect, yet there is also an opportunity to showcase other Leos we have come across both personally and through web sites and publications in general.

There is no particular order here just as we think of them, but they are all Leonbergers that move us, emotionally, they shout Leonberger to us and are the reason we love the breed so much. Its not about show quality or breed standard in any way (all fantastic examples of the breed) but each of these dogs reminds us why we got in to the breed in the first place. for us they are the epitomy of the breed.

Landstryder Magic Man at Manorguard. (Dillon) What a dog! this boy for me is all Leo, I just love everything about him size, colour, beautiful head and an expression to die for, this boy is special.
Barney Germany - Barney von der Johann-Adams-Mühle (Barney) More titles than you can shake a stick at, I would think he is one of the top dogs in Europe and what a beauty. You will see similarities between Barney and Dillion above in colour and type and that's probably the type we like the most. It's fair to say that Bear is of similar colour and that's probably where the liking comes from. We hope to have a Barney puppy or two in the not too distant future, fingers crossed
Hungary/UK -Kiserdei Vidocq at Rikandan (Vidocq) This boy is wonderful, originally from Hungary and started life waiting to come to the UK via Belgium I believe. Either way the waiting was worth while. Owned by Julie Jones (Bavaruki) he has produced some lovely big pups to date, he's just one of those Leo's you can't help but like.
Kuma  Redanix Another Level at Kumamatata (Kuma) To keep it in the family Kuma is a relation of Bear's, Kuma's Dad is Bear's Grandad, I guess that makes them uncle and nepthew? Kuma is about 4 years old I trhink and we just love him, we see him most weeks at shows and compete against him regularly.

Amalthea looking gorgeous Germany - Amalthea Lowe Von Walhall - This girl is one of the most impressive bitches I have seen and one of the reasons why I wanted a pup from her. She is Dana's mum and although impressive in pictures, she is fantastic in the fur. A German Champion at under 3 years old with 4 CAC's (CC's) from some of the toughest European judges. She has size, substance and real character with a beautiful temperament. Impressive in every way.
Germany - Unkas lowe von Osnig - Son of Barney von der Johann-Adams-Mühle, this boy is very big!, this picture was taken when he was 2.5 years old and still growing. A very impressive young dog that has heeps more potential, massive head, huge bone, lovely temperament and that lovely dark long coat. He is owned by the same people who own Barney his Dad and together they make the most wonder father son duo.
